George Dvorsky has built a respected career across the arts from Broadway and premier nightclub appearances to movies, recording & voiceover work, worldwide.
2022 has seen him spend a great deal of time touring with his friend, beloved Broadway icon, Chita Rivera in her concert, “The Rhythm of my Life.” They continue to play to acclaim and packed houses across the USA. George is also proud to appear in the ground breaking, major motion picture release, “Bros” which stars Billy Eichner with a global rollout from Universal Pictures. His next movie, is the forthcoming “I’m Not Gay”, an independent, original musical set for 2023.
George’s recent theater credits include: Caldwell B. Cladwell in “Urinetown”, “My Way - celebrating Frank Sinatra”, Daddy Warbucks in “Annie” (Berkshire Theatre Critics Award, Best Actor), the world’s tallest (ever) and most dashing Mr Mushnik in “Little Shop of Horrors.” Cherished Broadway appearances include the title role in original production of “The Scarlet Pimpernel”, Henry Spofford in “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes”, the Tony award winning, original company of Passion” as well as “Marilyn: An American Fable” & “The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas.”
Other New York roles encompass a run at Lincoln Center as Prince Charming in the NYC premiere of the Rodgers & Hammerstein classic, “Cinderella”, Tommy in “Brigadoon” & Count Ludovic in “Passion” with Patti LuPone which was filmed for PBS.
Off Broadway, George has starred in “The Fantasticks”, “Closer Than Ever”, & “Pete n Keely” (a role he reprised for the Paper Mill Playhouse which was filmed for streaming and distribution around the world) plus “And the World Goes Round” & “Dames at Sea.”
A master at his craft, George has worked extensively across the USA, with regional credits at impeccable performing arts venues such as: Theatre Under the Stars (TUTS) in Houston, North Shore Music Theatre in Beverly, MA, The Olney Theatre Center, Olney, MD ,(securing a Helen Hayes Nomination for Best Featured Actor) Ogunquit Playhouse, the Maine State Theater and the Cape Playhouse in Dennis, MA.
Equally at home on the concert stage, George has had the privilege of performing with prestigious symphonies around the world showcasing Broadway’s golden age of musical theater as well as his own one man show.
His catalog of recordings include two solo albums “In the Still of the Night” & “All Through the Night” (available to stream, download on all major platforms and physical CDs via Jay Records - and coming soon to Georgedvorsky.net !)
Cast albums of “Sondheim Unplugged”, “Closer Than Ever”, “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes”, “Brigadoon”, “Leading Men Don't Dance”, “Passion” & “Pete 'n' Keely” are also available for musical theater aficionados (digital & physical formats) along with a suite of recordings George collaborated with EMI on “Broadway Showstoppers”, “The Jerome Kern Treasury” & the first ever complete recording of the classic, “Kiss Me, Kate.”
Other career highlights to note: working for Disney on “Beauty and the Beast”, “Pocahontas” and “Mulan” including ensemble & solo appearances in all of these timeless movies, starring with Beatrice Arthur and the Boston Pops in the PBS production “Bernstein's Broadway”, a leading role in the TV web series “From Here to Hell's Kitchen” & being cast as the voice of President George H.W. Bush, in the audiobook “The Man I Knew” (written by Jean Becker.)
